On this week’s episode, I talk about, OK, ramble for a bit… about Belonging vs Fitting in, before moving on to talking about customer research.  

I swear, in my mind, I sound as great as Dax Shepard, but this is my second episode, and I need to practice more… and also, perhaps get some guests.

I digress.  The podcast covers a topic that really resonated with me when I heard about it

I can’t express how much I love this book. But it’s the page where she talks about how a group of 8th Grade children talk about the difference between belonging and fitting in, that blows my mind.  You can find it on page 232.  

Perhaps I should have gone more personal, but I don’t think you’re that interested in my rambling on about why I don’t feel like I belong anywhere. 

How do you know where you belong

I dip into why my sense of belonging, or lack of it, led me to think really hard about whether conforming just to fit in was the right thing or whether it was better to just go do my own thing.  Spoiler alert – doing my own thing won out.
